Ms. Pan Pwint

Pan is an Academic Success Coach and a junior at Columbia University, where she is pursuing Biology on the pre-medical track with a focus on medicine, scientific research, and healthcare innovation. Her strong academic background, leadership experience, and passion for education enable her to support students in achieving both academic and personal growth.
With more than a year of research experience in Organic Chemistry and Genetics, Pan has contributed to projects addressing emerging health issues and has presented her work at academic conferences and institutions across multiple states, including presentations at Harvard Medical School. Her research experience has strengthened her analytical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving abilities, which she incorporates into her teaching to help students develop a deeper understanding of complex concepts.
Before transferring to Columbia University, Pan attended Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), where she held several leadership positions. She served as a committee member of the Student Government Association, an executive board member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) Honor Society, and a mentor in the IMPACT Program. Through these roles, she worked closely with students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds, developing the mentorship, communication, and leadership skills that continue to shape her approach as an educator.
Since beginning her tutoring career in 2023, Pan has helped students build confidence and improve their academic performance across a variety of subjects. Her teaching experience includes GED Reading Language Arts (RLA), ESL instruction, IELTS preparation, and English Language Arts. She also served as a Teaching Assistant for English Literature at BMCC, where she supported students in developing reading comprehension, writing, literary analysis, and critical thinking skills.
Known for her patient, supportive, and student-centered teaching style, Pan creates an encouraging learning environment that empowers students to overcome challenges and reach their academic goals. Her ability to connect with learners of different ages and backgrounds allows her to tailor instruction to each student's unique needs, helping them build both academic skills and self-confidence.
Outside of academics and research, Pan enjoys painting and creative expression. She combines her passion for art with volunteer work at Mount Sinai Hospital, using creativity to bring comfort, color, and positivity to patients. Her dedication to service, lifelong learning, and student success makes her a valued member of the Success Prep Education Center team.
