Yan Aung is the Founder and Director of Academic Programs at Success Prep Education Center. With nearly two decades of teaching, mentoring, and college admissions experience, he has dedicated his career to helping students achieve academic excellence, gain admission to competitive universities, and unlock life-changing educational opportunities.

Originally from Myanmar (Burma), Yan earned a full scholarship to attend Wabash College in Indiana, where he studied Mathematics, Physics, and Philosophy. His educational journey shaped his belief that every student deserves access to high-quality academic guidance and personalized support, regardless of their background.

In 2016, Yan founded Success Prep Education Center with a mission to provide results-driven tutoring, test preparation, and college admissions counseling to students across the United States. What began as a small tutoring program has grown into a trusted educational institution serving families through locations in Elmhurst (Queens), Bensonhurst (Brooklyn), and Monterey Park (Los Angeles), as well as a comprehensive online learning platform that supports students nationwide.

As Lead Instructor and Academic Director, Yan specializes in Mathematics, Physics, Earth Science, Writing, SAT preparation, and college application essays. His teaching approach combines strong subject expertise, strategic academic planning, and individualized instruction designed to help students build confidence, strengthen critical thinking skills, and achieve measurable results.

Yan is also a licensed college consultant through the Heartland Institute of Financial Education (HIFE). Over the years, he has guided students through every stage of the college admissions process, from academic planning and extracurricular development to essay writing, scholarship applications, and financial aid strategy. His students have earned admission to highly selective institutions including Dartmouth College, Columbia University, New York University, Swarthmore College, UCLA, Boston University, Vassar College, Syracuse University, Lehigh University, Bates College, Rochester Institute of Technology, Drexel University, Union College, and numerous Macaulay Honors College programs.

Through his mentorship and admissions guidance, students and families have collectively earned more than $5 million in scholarships, grants, and financial aid awards. Many of his students have secured full-tuition and full-ride scholarship opportunities that have transformed their educational futures.

Today, Yan leads a team of dedicated educators committed to academic excellence, personalized instruction, and student success.
