Ryan Ou is an Academic Instructor at Success Prep Education Center with expertise in STEM education, Digital SAT (DSAT) preparation, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Regents Mathematics, and higher-level English. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School as a member of the Class of 2026 and will attend Carnegie Mellon University in Fall 2026, where he will major in Electrical and Computer Engineering on a full-ride scholarship.

Passionate about mathematics and science education, Ryan believes that students learn best when they understand not only how to solve problems, but also why concepts work. Inspired by the engaging teaching style of MIT Physics Professor Walter Lewin, Ryan emphasizes visual learning, real-world applications, and conceptual understanding in every lesson. His instructional approach helps students build strong mathematical foundations, develop critical thinking skills, and recognize how mathematics and physics explain many of the technologies and natural phenomena they encounter every day.

Ryan specializes in preparing students for the Digital SAT (DSAT), AP coursework, Regents examinations, and advanced mathematics. His patient, structured, and student-centered teaching style encourages students to ask questions, think independently, and approach challenging material with confidence.

Outside the classroom, Ryan is an accomplished trumpet player with more than nine years of performance experience. During high school, he served as Lead Trumpet for Brooklyn Technical High School's Symphonic Band and Second Trumpet for the Jazz Band, performing advanced NYSSMA Level VI repertoire. He plans to continue performing at Carnegie Mellon University as a lifelong hobby and creative outlet.

When he is not teaching or practicing music, Ryan enjoys playing basketball with friends and exploring new technologies. He believes that the discipline, perseverance, and teamwork developed through academics, music, and athletics are essential qualities that help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
