Why Scholarship Opportunities Matter

A merit-based scholarship recognizes a student’s achievements and can make a meaningful difference in the cost of attending university. Hay Thi’s $100,000 award is an accomplishment worth celebrating—and an encouraging example for students beginning their own college planning journey.

For families exploring universities, scholarship research deserves a place in the process from the start. Understanding eligibility requirements, preparing application materials, and tracking deadlines can help students make the most of the opportunities available to them.

Every student’s path is different. Thoughtful planning helps students identify universities and scholarships that fit their strengths, interests, and educational goals.
